ICYMI: Sicelo Buthelezi Joins Skeem Saam. The last time fans saw Sicelo Buthelezi doing his thing onscreen was in Gomora. Sadly the Mzansi Magic telenovela was canned and got replaced by My Brother’s Keeper.
The award winning actor and musician played the interesting role of Teddy. He was the son of an alcoholic mother Zodwa played by the talented Sana Mchunu. Zodwa’s alcohol troubles affected Teddy, who in turn struggled at school. This has resulted on Teddy being fostered by the school principal Melusi (Zolisa Xaluva) and his wife Grace, (Thembi Seete). Despite this Teddy became a happy child who makes everyone around him happy. In the last season Teddy was doing well for himself as a radio personality.
The good news is that Sicelo is back in our screens, with a new role. He is joining Skeem Saam, SABC1’s hit educational drama. Siceleo will play the role of Tobias Maswahla, otherwise known as Toby. Toby, a university student known for his mischievous nature, finds himself expelled from his previous institution in Johannesburg. He is now forced to move to Turfloop, where he will obviously continue with his drama.
Sicelo will make his debut as Toby on the 2nd April 2024.
