“Congrats to the #MatricClassOf2015. If U didn’t make it, I failed my matric too the 1st time”- Says Dj Sbu

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga announced on January 5 that 70.7% of the country’s matrics – learners who wrote their final grade 12 exams in 2015 – passed. Some can now apply for hotly contested university places; others will choose vocational training, take a gap year or try to head straight into the workforce. All hope is not lost of course for those who didn’t make it. One person who knows that too well is the one and only Dj Sbu. The hustler of all hustlers.

Sbu Leope

DJ Sbu has a lot going for himself and in the past years, he has managed to inspire a lot of young people across the country.  The self made entrepreneur continues to urge individuals and businesses to get behind his annual bursary campaign, which he says aims to make a difference to underprivileged school children.

The campaign forms part of Sbu’s non-profit organisation, The Sbusiso Leope Education Foundation (SLEF), which has been running for the past ten years. Among other things, the foundation gives talks at high schools, runs feeding schemes, and helps pupils with their school fees.

If you are one of the matriculants who received their results and didn’t make it, Dj Sbu has just the message to lift your spirit up. The 35 year old Dj is on a roll with motivation , he wrote on twitter today,  “Congrats to the for all your Hardwork. If U didn’t make it, I failed my matric too the 1st time”.
