Sindisiwe Manqele Found Guilty Of The Murder Of Flabba!
Sindisiwe Manqele has been found guilty for the murder of slain rapper Nkululeko ‘Flabba’ Habedi in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. The former Skwatta Kamp rapper died on 9 March at his Alexandra home, after he was stabbed in the chest. Over the past few months the court has heard testimonies from various state and defence witnesses about the events that led up to the rapper’s killing.
Sindi pleaded not guilty to charges of murder. During her testimony Sindi claimed that Flabba was killed in self-defence. Judge Solly Sithole read out his 50-page judgement to a courtroom filled to capacity by the rapper’s family, friends and media.
Handing down his ruling Judge Solly Sithole said: “I am convinced that the version of Manqele has to be rejected there’s no reasonable relationship with her attack and the actions of Habedi”.
Sithole said Manqele’s private defense was exceeded by stabbing him unlawfully. The nature of force used was consistent with force. “Intension isn’t an issue because the accused herself admitted it herself that she intended to stab the deceased,” said the judge, who had previously said the musician’s killig was a “crime of passion”.
“The state has proved beyond reasonable doubt the accused is found guilt of murder,” said Judge Sithole.
Flabba’s family were brought to tears as they left the court. A date has not yet been set for sentencing.
