Sad Note! Patrick Ndlovu Passes Away. Just a day ago, South Africa mourned two well known personalities. One being Marietjie Bothma, who died after a short illness. The other is well-known broadcaster, author and political analyst who Eusebius McKaiser passed away Tuesday afternoon at his Sandton home, aged 44.
We have sadly learned of the passing away of yet another entertainer. Veteran South African Actor, Patrick Ndlovu has passed away at the age of 85. The news was announced by his management Moonyeenn Lee Associates, on their Facebook page.
The posts reads, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of legendary actor, Patrick Ndlovu, whose acting career spanned more than four decades. We were proud to represent such a consummate professional and majestic talent. He was a kind and gentle man, always ready with a smile even when times were tough.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, family, and friends.
We will miss you Patrick. RIP
Ndlovu was born in Mohlakeng, outside Randfontein on the West Rand. His first love was not acting, as he was a teen jazz musician. As years went by, the acting bug bit him, and we are thankful for that.
He was best known for his role as Sizwe Moloi in the SABC1 drama series Zone 14. Another one of his iconic roles was as school principal, Mr Thembu, in the hit series, Yizo Yizo, which is currently screening on Netflix. Ndlovu had been in the industry for more than 40 years, displaying amazing talent on every show, until his death.
His cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
