Manaka Ranaka Speaks Out For The First Time After Accidentally Killing A Teenage Girl

Last week it was revealed that the Generations:The Legacy star had knocked over Millicent Mbonani (18), who was crossing a road near the N3 to Durban. It was reported that the Leondale High School pupil was confirmed dead at the scene of the accident by paramedics. Gauteng police are still investigating a case of culpable homicide.

The Sowetan reports that the 18-year-old student was crossing the highway on foot, on her way to visit a friend. Ranaka’s car is said to have then collided with her – killing her on impact.

Speaking to Sunday Sun for the first time since the tragic incident, Manaka explained that she is still traumatised by what happened. has broken her silence about the trauma and pain she feels after accidentally killing the teenage girl two weeks ago.

Manaka visited the family on Wednesday to apologise for the loss of their beloved and said they forgave her and understood that it was an accident. “I wanted to apologise to the mum at the accident scene, but I was held back for good reasons. We visited the family and I spoke to the mum who is very distraught”.

“I apologised to the family and was forgiven. There’s no animosity in that family. Those are human beings and they understood it was an accident,” she told the paper.

But Manaka says she is still traumatized and feels pain. “I keep seeing Milicent and it’s hard in my life right now. I’m not in a good space but I hope God will give me strength’, she said.
