Asanda Foji Explains Why She Was Booted From Generations
Former Generations actor, Asanda Foji opened up recently in an interview with Sowetan where she admitted that her acting may not have been all that impressive. Foji who played ‘Simphiwe’ on Generations ‘The Legacy’ seemed to be in a state of confusion over her job at the popular soapie in July and she didn’t know she was getting the axe.
A string of rumours surfaced, which claimed that Asanda Foji, Denise Zimba and Ivy Nkutha were going to be fired. Thereafter, Generations released a press statement confirming that Denise had asked to be released from her contract and that Asanda would also be leaving the soapie.
The former generations actor reflected on her time at the popular soapie and putting her performance down to nerves and says that the transition to the show was a big one for her.
She confesses saying, “I know that my acting was not impressive. I was nervous most of the time. The nerves really worked against me and it showed on television,”
“There was a lot of pressure and I was new. It’s funny that I was not intimated by the camera and lights though,” she adds.
Asanda will make her last appearance on the show in December. She is however grateful to the show helping her grow and improve her skills as an actress.
