Touching Tributes Pour In for the Late Mark Pilgrim. This past Sunday, we lost yet another influential public figure. After months of battling cancer, Mark Pilgrim sadly succumbed to the brutal disease on Sunday.
Pilgrim was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in June 2022. Ever since then, the veteran award-winning media personality has been sharing his journey with his fans and followers on social media. One of the things that Mark revealed on Instagram was that, his cancer had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes. Over the past few weeks his health deteriorated, but Pilgrim still lived a positive life full of hope.
This is the second time he is fighting the dreaded disease. Back in 1988, the award winning veteran radio personality was diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer. He was 18 at the time, and the cancer spread to his lungs and kidneys. Pilgrim had nine months of intense chemo sessions lasting up to four hours a session and lucky for him, he had a supportive and loving family that helped him pull through.
Sadly for him, his fans, family and the nation at large, Pilgrim has lost battle to cancer when it attacked him for the second time. In a message posted by Hot 102.7 FM. At the time, he was with his fiance, who he recently proposed to Adrienne. Pilgrim is survived by his fiance and his two beautiful daughters, who he loved dearly.
As news of his passing broke, many took to social media to pay tributes to the amazing soul. Pilgrim definitely touched the masses, more so because he was open and brave even during the worst moments of his life.
