10 Interesting Facts About House of Zwide’s Olwethu Mackay.
1. Olwethu Mackay was born on the 11th of October 2003.
2. The 19-year-old upcoming star, is currently in his first year at AFDA studying towards a BA in Motion Picture.
3. He was inspired by his older sister to act. His sister was doing house plays and was part of the cast, whereas Olwethu was just helping backstage. Seeing her on stage propelled him to eventually take a step to audition
4. In a bid to become a professional actor, Olwethu moved to Gauteng and joined theatre. His debut role was that of a Sangoma on Thetha Production.
5. In his matric year 2022, he did a general audition with Bomb Productions which was not for any specific role. A few weeks later he bagged the role of Senzo in House of Zwide.
6. Senzo is a suburban snob and last born of the Zwides, who gets away with practically anything. Shipped off to boarding school, Senzo is a heavy drug abuser and his mother turns a blind eye. Struggling with his parents’ separation and having a new sister, Senzo’s life is turning upside down dramatically.
7. The Senzo character got killed on Monday night’s episode, 17 July, when season three began. His mother, Faith (Winnie Ntshaba) is convinced Nandipha is responsible for his death.
8. On top of his acting career, he is a also a model and a musician of note. Olwethu has a single featuring Kulca357,called UMLILO.
9. As for his future plans, Olwethu just joined an agency and he is excited to see what they have in store for him.
10. He has also been flexing his screenwriting muscles and have been in communication with several producers, screenwriters, and directors in order to fine-tune his work.
