Cassper Nyovest Allegedly Paid Peanuts For The Composition Of His Hit Song, ‘Doc Shebeleza’,
Rapper Cassper Nyovest allegedly paid the composer of his smash hit, ‘Doc Shebeleza’, a pittance for his work on the track.
According to Daily Sun, the 18-year-old composer, Fairness Twala, hails from Tzaneen, in Limpopo and was reportedly paid R1 500 for his work on the hit.
An industry insider explained that Twala was paid so little due to his age and lack of experience.
“Fairness is young and naive – that’s why he charged Cassper so little. When the song went big, Cassper could have paid him more as a token of appreciation – but he didn’t,” the source explained.
The source added that it was a shame Twala was paid so little.
“This industry is not for thefaint-hearted. Fairness doesn’t mind that he got paid a pittance for the beat.”
“Because he is grateful that it launched his musical career. But it’s sad that he was paid a mere R1 500,” the source said.
Twala rubbished the claims he was unhappy with Nyovest.
“We all have to start somewhere. I’m fine with my business deal with Cassper. People should mind their own business,” he explained.
