10 Things You Didn’t Know About Sdumo Mtshali

Sdumo Mtshali rose to fame by winning the first season of the SABC1 reality competition Class Act, in 2010 and ever since, he has been thriving as an actor. Many know him from the popular drama ‘Isibaya’ as Sbu who is the main character. It can’t get any better than this!

We’ve compiled 10 things about Sdumo Mtshali that you should know….

1. He landed his first leading dramatic role in the SABC1 drama series Intersexions, which premiered in October 2010.

2. In 2011, Sdumo landed the role of Maidi Kotwe on Rhythm City, which he played for a year.

3. In 2013, he landed the starring role of Kuti Daniels in the SABC1 drama series Tempy Pushas.

4. Sdumo always dreamt of being an actor. He has a background in theatre and acting in productions while he was studying drama. 

5. Before making it big as an actor, Sdumo was working at Marine World.

6.  Sdumo is originally from Durban, he currently resides in Johannesburg.

7. He first began  acting by doing theatre at the age of 11 and his first play was Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

8. John Kani  is one of Sdumo’s ­favourite performers  and has influenced him to follow a career in theatre.

9. His favourite sport is Basketball. He played the sport in the 1990s in the UK and loved it very much.

10. Sdumo would love to teach university students about acting in the future.
