This fixed term contract role sits within the cinemas division and focuses on delivering excellent guest service across multiple cinema functions. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in entertainment, customer service, and fast-paced operational environments. You will rotate across cashier duties, food and beverage preparation, cinema assistance, and general service roles to ensure a smooth and enjoyable cinema experience for all guests.

Job Overview

The Multi Skilled Employee role focuses on supporting daily cinema operations while delivering high-quality customer service. You will assist in box office sales, catering sales, and cinema floor activities while also preparing food items such as popcorn and slush. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to presentation standards, and consistent service excellence. You will ensure that guests receive a positive experience from entry to exit while maintaining Ster-Kinekor operational and safety standards. Flexibility and teamwork are essential in this multi-functional role.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across multiple cinema functions including cashier, waiter, cinema assistant, and concessions roles
• Operate box office and catering sales systems efficiently
• Prepare food and beverage items according to quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, counters, and public areas
• Ensure product displays and promotional materials are correctly presented
• Support shift preparation and operational readiness
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety compliance
• Ensure proper storage and handling of cinema products
• Deliver friendly and professional customer service at all times
• Assist in upselling products and promoting cinema offerings
• Report any deviations in product quality or operational standards
• Follow uniform, grooming, and safety requirements
• Support supervisors with general operational tasks as required

Requirements And Skills

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• 0 to 1 year experience in retail, hospitality, or cinema environment advantageous
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
• Experience with VISTA or MYCC systems is an advantage
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good organisational and administrative abilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced customer service environment
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow instructions and operational procedures
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Professional appearance and strong work ethic
