These girls are twins. Can you believe it?
We’ve never seen something like this and we are still in awe . No matter how much experts can try to explain it but obviously one may never be most certain as to how this all happened . Lucy and Maria Aylme are twin sisters. Their mother is mixed race and the father is white. Maria was born black while Lucy was born white.
Around 12,000 sets of twins are born in the UK every year but the odds of non-identical twins being different races is 1 in 500.
The twins’ mum Donna Douglas got the surprise of her life in the delivery room back in 1997 when she met her girls as nothing from her ultrasound scans had pointed to this anomaly. To add to their parents’ confusion, Lucy and Maria have three older siblings who are all mixed race.
Whilst you are still grabbing some air, lets just take a look at the following pics of Lucy and Maria.

If there’s one thing we are sure of, is that anything is possible in this world we are leaving in. Who knows, maybe next time we will hear of a white couple who gave birth to a black baby. Remember the Nigeria couple who recently gave birth to a white baby this year? See what we mean? So anything is really possible!
