Minister Of Health Launches The First Ever Flavoured Condom
They come in these flavours: Strawberry, banana and grape. These flavoured male condoms will replace the government issue Choice condoms, which has been described as smelly and unattractive.
Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has announced that the government will be distributing multi-flavoured condoms in a bid to increase condom usage among the youth.
“I hope that you find this condom more appealing and will use them – they will be free,” said Motsoaledi in a prepared speech at the opening the First things First campaign in Soweto on Thursday.
Now in its fourth year, the First Things First campaign encourages students to take responsibility for knowing their HIV status. This is a necessary step towards treatment, care and support and preventing new infections.
“Treatment saves lives!” the Minister said.
