No Love For The New Generations Legacy!

Ouch! Generations The Legacy received no love from the South African Film and Television this year. The nominations were announced on the 24th in Atlas Studios Milpark, in Johannesburg. Not only that it seems other awards unions feel the same since it was only nominated for the public vote category in the Royal Soap Awards.

The Generations’ creators seem to be unfazed saying in a statement, “a nomination or no nomination is irrelevant, what is important is making certain that The Legacy stays at number one. Keeping audiences glued with good story is our goal.” The snub might be a result of behind the scenes drama at Generations although they haven’t taken a major SAFTA award in recent years.

Another surprising snub was Muvhango which only bagged one nomination whilst Isidingo got five. The leader of the pack is the crime thriller four corners with no thirteen nods and just behind them is the telenovela turned full time series Isibaya with twelve nods. Binnelander scored nine nominations and inumber number got six.

The awards will be held on the 21st of March
