AUDITIONS: for M-Net’s “Power Couple”
M-Net, the channel that introduced reality television to the continent with Big Brother South Africa – followed by a winning streak which included blockbuster seasons of Idols SA, Survivor SA and MasterChef SA – is bringing viewers yet another first! In 2015, viewers will fall in love with a brand-new format, Power Couple.
“Power Couple is a revolutionary concept that combines all the elements needed for compelling television,” says Victor Eckard, M-Net’s Director for M-Net 101 and M-Net Edge. “There will be romance, drama, action, adventure and loads of suspense in this unique feel-good series with traces of Fear Factor, Big Brother and game show-type challenges which could yield massive cash rewards for the contestants. It’s all very exciting and we’re thrilled to lead the international pack again by bringing our viewers a fresh format that we believe will soon take the world by storm.”
Power Couple will test the relationship of eight couples, who will move into a luxurious villa somewhere in Cape Town. These couples will compete at thrilling, nerve-wracking challenges, during which they have to illustrate how much they know, trust or love their partners. Based on the outcome of these tasks, two couples will be up for elimination each week and the others will decide whom they would like to keep in the game.
If you want to become South Africa’s first Power Couple, do take note that auditions will start soon. The audition dates and venues are as follows:
14 February – The Bay Hotel, Camps Bay, Cape Town
18 February – Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban
28 February – Indaba Hotel, Johannesburg
But who is eligble to enter and what will the producers be looking for?
“You have to be older than 21 and a South African citizen, willing to do crazy and wild things for love,” says Handrie Basson from Afrokaans, who’re producing the show for M-Net 101. “We’ll be looking for diverse, interesting and outgoing people who believe that they’re a winning pair – whether they’ve been married for yonks or at the start of a lifetime together.”
For terms and conditions and to download the Power Couple entry form, all you have to do is right click and save or print the PDF.
Power Couple will be filmed in Cape Town in March and will be screened on M-Net from August 2015.
