Tips On How to Apply Make-up like a Pro
We’ve seen you around, looking like you allowed your five year old nieces or sisters to play with your faces. We all want to walk out of our doors looking like Hollywood stars without breaking any bank right? The purpose of makeup is to accentuate what’s already there, so we get confused when we see you in malls with completely shaved eyebrows, looking like you asked a blind person to draw lines on top of your eyes, not forgetting those foundations that do not match your natural complexions. The truth is you don’t need a tone of money to have the perfect “made-up” face, work with what you have and always remember everything in moderation ladies……and some gentlemen.
Here are five easy tips to get that flawless face.
1. Ace your base
Firstly, when choosing foundation apply it on your jaw line to see if it matches your neck, never on the outside of your hand because most times the complexion on your hand is different from the one on your neck. When applying foundation try using a foundation brush. It allows you to apply make-up evenly and feels wonderfully silky on the skin. Build up your foundation a little at a time then apply concealer afterwards, if you are blessed with beautiful skin just put concealer only.
2. Eyes Right
To get a better color on your eyes apply a primer first. Choose three shades of the same color; start with the darker shade on the inside with the lighter one on the outside. Move to your eyelashes and apply a coat of mascara by looking down and rolling your brush up through the lashes from base to tip, if you want a second coat do it quickly before the first layer dries otherwise you’ll end up with clumpy looking lushes.
3. Eyebrows on fleek!
Ladies please do not shave all your eyebrows, if you think your eyebrows are a bit untidy use a brow brush to groom them lightly or fill them in with a brow pencil, don’t get too heavy with the pencil just apply a small amount of color to even your brows up and fill them in if necessary.
4. Give a little lip
For a pout that stays longer, first line up your lips with a good lip pencil using light, feathery strokes and working from the corners of the mouth to the center. Don’t fill in the middle of the lips, just outline them, and then use a lip brush to apply lipstick over the entire lip.
5. Glowing beauty
To add a little glow to your face, apply a little bit of illuminaser strategically to areas where the sun naturally hits on your face like the outside of your cheeks, chin or forehead or you can mix it with your moisturizer or foundation for an all-over glow.
