It looks like even famous celebrities are not safe from this kind of hate. The latest celebrity to be a victim is Thandiswa Mazwai.

It looks like the hater picked a wrong one because Thandiswa is not taking this lying down. The award winning vocalist is quite influential and always speaks against issues of gender based abuse and racism in the country. She recently became a victim when an MTN agent called her a kaffir, which is a racist slur used to refer to an individual of Nguni ancestry.

After taking her complaint to MTN via Twitter, the cellphone network promised that they will get to the bottom of the issue and apologized to Thandiswa. A few days later, Thandiswa, wanted to know what steps were taken against the agent, and wanted a personal one on one with her about racism.

“I would also like @MTNza to facilitate a conversation between myself and the agent so that she can apologize to my face and I can maybe educate her about race and racism. I feel extremely violated& very upset that @MTNza is now also calling my partner,” she said.
