What is a Learnership?

A learnership is a means of obtaining a qualification whileworking. It is made up of unit standards. It is a form of work-based or ‘on-the-job’training which results in an QF-registered qualification. Both permanent and temporary externallearners with a matric qualification can apply. The programme is run together with MICTSETA.
The learnership is moderated and approved by the MICT SETA and is also registered withthe South African Qualifications Authority. During the 12-month training period, all learnersreceive theoretical training an MICT SETA accredited training provider.  Learners are given theopportunity to shadow subject matter experts within Datacentrix for “on the job”training which gives them work experience.

By the end of the 12 months,those passing the final exam will hold a MICT SETA National Certificate, which certifies that theyare capable of deploying, building, designing, optimising and operating technologies and can makethe design and technology decisions necessary to ensure successful technology implementationprojects.

Eligibility criteria

You must be anunemployed South African citizen with a matric certificate and under the age of 35.
You musthave excellent communication skills and motivation for continuous improvement, geographicflexibility during projects is also essential.
