2015 South African University Registration Fees

It’s that time of the year where Universities are in process with their intake of students into different fields of studies. It is an exciting moment for those who are planning on registering to further their studies full time. It could be that you are a first time student or maybe a returning student. Therefore, you should be informed and up-to-date with all details regarding University registration fees.

A registration fee is a fee payable before the initial payment of fees and does not include the total tuition fee or resident fee etc… So if you haven’t applied and you can’t wait to do so, it’s better to compare the fees from each different varsity.

Below is a list that can help you figure out how much is required.

  1. Wits – The University of the Witwatersrand requires students to make a first payment of R9340.00.
  2. UCT– The University of Cape Town requires a fee of R3275.
  3. UJ– The University of Johannesburg requires a fee of R3680.
  4. UL-The University of Limpopo requires a fee of R5000 (For students who will be placed in res) and R3000 is the fee payable by students not requiring res.
  5. RHODES-Students are required to pay R750 upon registration.
  6. CPUT– The Cape Peninsula University of Technology requires a fee of R3700.
  7. STELLIES– The University of Stellenbosch requires a fee of R10512
  8. UWC– The University of University of Western Cape requires a fee of R4290
  9. UKZN– The University of KZN requires a fee of R3750
  10. TUKS-The University of Pretoria requires a fee of R5000
  11. UNIVERN– The University of Venda requires a fee of R4600
  12. NMMU– The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University requires a Registration fee R9900
  13. NWU– The North West University requires a fee of R7200
  14. TUT– The University of Tshwane requires a fee of R1500
  15. VUT– The Vaal University of Technology requires a fee of R1400
