Thembekile Mrototo Leaves eNCA For Another News Channel. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. Before that, Mrototo was a familiar voice on Gauteng talk radio station 702, where he presented late night and overnight news bulletins for almost two years before sister-station 947 came calling.

The multi-talented personality the stamped his mark in the industry when he anchored News Grid, the 4 PM-5 PM weekday slot on 24-hour news channel eNCA. Mrototo has also made appearances on popular telenovelas ‘The River’ on 1Magic in 2018 and ‘Legacy’ which launched on Mnet in 2020.

He has just left eNCA to be part of Newzroom Afrika, which took to the airwaves on the 2nd of May 2019. The 24-hour news channel, replaced the Gupta-owned ANN7. Newzroom Afrika is the bran child of television production entrepreneurs Thokozani Nkosi of Eclipse TV and former SABC news anchor Thabile Ngwato, of Rapid Innovation. Both own 50% of the company.
