Matrics names will no longer be published in the newspapers
So basically everyone you know knows your name and surname right? It was a little nerve wrecking that everyone you know was able to call and say congratulations with your results or call and ask you what went wrong.
Fear no more because now the Matric results published in newspapers will only reflect your ID and exam number and not your name, the department of basic education announced on Tuesday.
The decision was made after a task team recommended that the practice of publishing individual names be reviewed by the department, spokesman Elijah Mhlanga said.
It was decided that publishing of pupil results should be reviewed. During the Council of Education Ministers’ meeting, hosted by Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga in Pretoria on Monday.
So with your results being published soon keep your ID close, very close.
