To apply you must be an unemployed graduate (with the relevant qualification from a recognised institution of higher learning) between the ages of 18 and 35. Preference will be given to South African citizens. Only those who have never participated in a government internship government may apply. The mission of the Department of Science and Technology is to develop, coordinate and manage a national system of innovation that will bring about maximum human capital, sustainable economic growth and improved quality of life for all. We are inviting currently unemployed graduates to participate in a 12-month internship programme at one of the best-performing government departments in South Africa. The programme runs from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016 at our head office in Pretoria. The Department will respond only to shortlisted candidates, so if you have not heard from us within three months, you can assume your application was unsuccessful.

How to Apply
Applications must be accompanied by a signed Z83 form and up-to-date curriculum vitae (including three contactable referees) as well as recently certified copies of all qualifications and the applicant’s identity document. Confirmation of permanent appointment will be subject to the applicant passing a security check and confirmation of the applicant’s qualifications. It is the responsibility of applicants to have any foreign qualifications verified by the South African Qualifications Authority. The Department will respond only to shortlisted candidates, who will be interviewed on a date and at a time specified by the Department.
