Ms Fleekiswa Ntando Duma Mocked Through An Alien Meme
South African entertainer, Ntando “Fleekiswa” Duma who is best known for her portrayal of Zinzi on e.tv’s soap opera Rhythm City responds to being turned into an alien meme. Ntando was body shamed through an alien meme that is featured in the Men In Black blockbuster movie. The image is currently circulating online.
“I have learnt that not everyone will like you and no matter what you do (good or bad) they will always have something o say or wan to bring you down” said the actress and TV personality Ntando Duma. She further added that she understood the “entertainment aspect” of the meme thus she will never allow herself o be affected by people’s judgment of her. The picture has highlighted the issue of body-shamming vs entertainment
“I have developed thick skin and have a good sense of humour when it comes to these kinds of situations around my appearance” Ntando explained. The actress also said that she has learnt not to take things too seriously despite the situation. She went on o explain that everything she does, she does it for herself and if people aren’t impressed by it then tough!
Ntando is definitely not the first or the last one to be mocked by social media trolls. High profile celebrities such as radio and TV personality Unathi Msengana was also ridiculed and mocked by online users. She went from being mocked for not wearing make-up to being “change” when sprayed with insect repellent.
