Applications Open for the DRDGOLD Engineering Learnership Programme 2026. Far West Gold Recoveries invites unemployed youth from the Merafong Community to apply for the DRDGOLD Engineering Learnership Programme 2026.
About the DRDGOLD Engineering Learnership
- The learnership programme is aimed at applicants who want to gain practical training and develop skills in engineering-related disciplines.
- Applicants who do not reside in Merafong will not be considered for this programme.
Available Engineering Fields
Learnership opportunities are available in the following engineering fields:
- Fitting and Mechanic.
- Electrical.
- Fabrication.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have Grade 12 results with a pass rate of 40% or more in the following subjects:
- Pure Mathematics.
- Science.
- English.
- Applicants with NCV Level 4 may also apply.
- Applicants with a fully completed N2 or above in any engineering discipline may also be considered.
Who Should Apply?
This opportunity is suitable for unemployed youth from the Merafong Community who are interested in engineering, technical training and artisan-related career paths.
Applicants who have a strong interest in Fitting and Mechanic, Electrical or Fabrication trades are encouraged to apply.

- Copy of South African ID.
- Grade 12 results.
- N3 certificate, where applicable.
- Proof of residence.
- Signed letter from the relevant Ward Councillor.
- The Ward Councillor letter must include the ward number for verification purposes.
