Big Brother Africa Back On Our Screens
The ninth season of Big Brother Africa is back on our screens. This years’ themes is titled Hotshots. It was initially supposed to be aired on the 7th of September but it had to be postponed because of an unexpected fire that broke out and burnt the studios. Eager BBA fans weren’t disappointed for long though as new studios were found and the show aired a month later.
Goitse from Botswana
Auditions were held in 14 countries with Angola being replaced by Rwanda. 26 contestant occupy the house in a race to win the grand prise of 300 00 US Dollars. However, instead of the show running for 91 days, it will run for 63 days.
Only a week into the show, and evictions have already started with Resa from Zambia and Mira from Mozambique being the first to leave. Both ex housemates are disappointed to leave so soon but hope to use the opportunity to further their careers in the entertainment industry. Mira wishes she was more vocal in the house and Reza says she wouldn’t have changed anything about her stay in the house as she was being herself.
Nominations continued as usual leaving 9 people up for eviction this coming Sunday. The names of the nominated housemates are: Ellah from Uganda, Esther from Uganda, Laveda from Tanzania, JJ from Zimbabwe, Lilian from Nigeria, Permithias from Namibia, Sabina from Kenya, Tayo from Nigeria, and Frankie from Rwanda. As always, it’s in the hands of the viewers as to who gets to stay and who has to leave so place your votes to keep your favourites in the house.
As regular BBA viewers may know, a house with too many occupants is never a dull one. With all the personalities under one roof, there is bound to be a clash causing a fight to break out. Last night a fight broke out amongst the boys when Tayo showed up and dared JJ to a fight. He threw insults at him to add fuel to the fire. JJ didn’t take this laying down as he dared Tayo to throw the first punch. The fight got the attention of the entire house with some of the girls jumping into calm the boys down. Alusa was offended at Tayo’s actions and joined JJ as back up. “He thinks he is the alpha male here. We won’t let anyone abuse us calling us m**her f**kers. This is not allowed.” He said. Seeing the spectacle created, Tayo backed down and left the scene.
On a lighter note, a Big Brother season is never complete without romance blooming from the house. Idris from Tanzania tried to sweep Goitse off her feet as the two enjoyed a romantic dinner for two.
