Tweeps Call Out Mfundi Vundla Following His Tribute To Menzi Ngubane

Tweeps Call Out Mfundi Vundla Following His Tribute To Menzi Ngubane. Touching tributes are still pouring in for our departed star. South Africa is still reeling from shock after the sad news of Menzi Ngubane‘s passing. Fans as well as those who have worked closely with the veteran actor continue to pay heartfelt tribute to him. The likes of Sello Maake kaNcube, Sonia Mbele, Thembi Seete Connie and Shona Ferguson took to social media to pay tribute to Ngubane.

His former boss Mfundi Vundla also seized the opportunity to say a few words about Ngubane. Just like most people, Vundla said he was shocked by the news and is still struggling to come to terms with the loss. The executive producer of Morula Pictures speaks highly of the late actor, describing him as a good person both off and onscreen. He said that he was at home watching a documentary when he received a call from a family member letting him know of the sad news.

It was so sad. I  stood there in shock. He was one of SA’s most talented actors and it is a big loss. He had health challenges but always bounced back. I am devastated……He was a very talented and brilliant actor. Off screen, he was a good guy. It is very sad. His death is a loss to his family and also to audiences. It leaves the whole of SA poorer,” Vundla told TshisaLIVE.

Vundla, who is a very prominent figure in the industry, also pointed out that he will always remember Ngubane as a great artist, as well as a very professional and a role model.

He leaves behind a legacy. Thank goodness there is a record of his work that will always remain in tribute to him, something that can never been taken, for generations to see and be inspired by,” Vundla added.

His tribute, although it was beautiful, it did not sit well with a lot of tweeps who remembered the time Vundla axed 16 Generations actors. These actors wanted to be paid for royalties and they also wanted a 3-year-contract‚ saying that month to month agreements made life unstable. At the time‚ some of the 16 gave accounts of how they had battled to pay medical expenses and were never certain of a permanent salary.

Among those who were fired include, Katlego Danke, Winnie Ntshaba, Nambitha Mpumlwana, Zolisa Xaluva, Zenande Mfenyana, Anga Makubalo, Slindile Nodangala, Thato Molamu, and Sophie Ndaba. Ngubane, who played the powerful and ruthless Sibusiso Dhlomo was also fired from the SABC1 soapie. The award winning actor publicly spoke about how he was forced to go back to work while he was still recovering from his 7 weeks stay in the hospital. All of this have left many wondering why Vundla is feeling for the actor now, when he didn’t care about him back then.
