What is the Joburg City Fest ?

They are all part of the biggest celebration of Joburg City of the past decade – The Absa Joburg City Festival Oct 2nd – 5th.
If you ask where is the Absa Joburg City Fest – there is only one answer JOBURG CITY – 11 different precincts to be precise, and over 40 different venues are all putting their best foot forward to showcase the best that our city has to offer.
If you ask what is the Absa Joburg City Fest, well that’s a bit more complicated. Its live music, theatre, comedy, food & wine, films, fashion, rugby, beer, braais, visual arts, tours and SO MUCH MORE. Rea Vaya and its EASY!
It’s so easy to enjoy the city, especially during Absa Joburg City Festival! Simply park at Newtown Junction and hop on a Rea Vaya bus to be able to reach just about every festival venue. A full festival transport map is available on line and at Rea Vaya stations during the festival. You can even prebook your parking pay and transport pass on www.joburgcityfest.co.za. Do it now and avoid queing for parking or for a Rea Vaya card!

Absa Joburg City Festival Programme
In a ticketing first for South Africa, and to encourage attendance at as many events as possible, a sliding scale applies, whereby the more tickets you buy, the less you pay.
The Festival programme includes dozens of fringe events in addition to the main events.
