Mission

The protection/safeguarding of the port’s physical, intellectual and human assets, as well as client merchandise on both land and water

Outputs

Inspection of cargo and documentation ie CTO’s, delivery notes, harbour carrier permits, landing orders, DRO’s, verification of electronic access permits of individuals or vehicles. Exercise access / egress control and conducting regular vehicle / boat / foot patrols in compliance with the ISPS Code. Physical searching / arresting of persons, searching of parcels, bags and vehicles entering / leaving the port. Capturing all information of incidents and persons / cargo leaving / entering the port. Perform crowd control during strikes, special events, traffic control and escort of VIP’s within the port. Record and maintain all security registers. Operate baggage scanner at passenger terminal.

Qualifications & Experience:

•Grade 10 Certificate
•Security Official Certificate (PSIRA) Grade C•Port Facility Security Personnel Course (Maritime Security)
•Firearm Training Course (Practical and Theory)
•Drivers licence code B
•Prepared to works shifts day/night
