“Don’t Compare Trending SA Presenters,” Kuli Roberts. Since it started airing a couple of years ago, the show has changed their hosts several times. From season 1 and 2, Trending SA started with talented media personalities, Pabi Moloi, Kuli Roberts and Shaka Sisulu as hosts. Season III, Dr Musa Mthombeni started making appearances, and he eventually became part of Trending SA in season IV, when Sisulu left the show.

Season V, Trending SA came with a whole new team of hosts, after being off air for some months. Sport host Elma Smit, Journalist and experienced broadcaster, Refiloe Mpakanyane as well as musician, artist manager, radio personality and publicist MaBlerh, were unveiled as new hosts in August 2020. The trio tried their level best to bring back the loyal fan base that used to stay up late watching the show.

Unfortunately, in less than a year, the team was dissolved and fresh faces were introduced. Elma and Refiloe made way for radio DJ, Mo Flava, media personality, Lootlove and award-winning satirist “Coconut Kelz” real name Lesego Thlabi. MaBlerh Salvatore, however stayed on as the daily host of Trending SA.

As expected, there will always be comparison among these hosts. Some people feel the original presenters made the show a hit, whereas others feel the fresh faces are doing the show justice. One tweep went on to say, they only watched Trending SA because of Kuli, Pabi, Nina and Musa. Kuli was quick to defend the current hosts, saying that they too deserve a chance.

“No slander against Trending Sa hosts will b tolerated.Respect the current crew, my love. We r your past as a collective. Embrace the new crew and remember they too deserve those salaries. Don’t make folk doubt themselves, rather build. Never destroy. Show em love. God shows me,” Kuli said.
