Content and Copy Writer

We require the services of a full time writer, who is able to handle a wide range of writing assignments from website content to video scripts and business plans. Must demonstrate a proven ability to grasp client project requirements and match them to end-user needs. One day you may be writing about a holiday destination and the next day about a community outreach program for a PBO. The person we are looking for will be able to excite us with creative ideas and turn out crisp copy for a full range of communications platforms; edited and proofed, on deadline.
Must be able to research and write content on a wide variety of topics. Candidate should be able to conduct periodic check of content health on various communications platforms. Candidates should be able to conduct research; generate accurate, informative, reliable content and write creative, unique, original content.
Must be first language English
Responsibilities:
• Write fresh, engaging and compelling copy / content
• Article writing (well-researched, well-written and compact content on a particular subject)
• Writing attractive headlines / titles, engaging body and an intuitive or insightful conclusion
• Content marketing (the creation of valuable content that has a marketing purpose)
• Copywriting (designed to get the reader to take a specific action; e.g. making a purchase, confirming an email opt-in, calling for more information, etc.)
• Content for blogs
• Content aimed at building rapport, delivering a marketing message without feeling “salesy” and getting the potential customer to stick around
• Write and post content online; maintains company Web pages and blog(s)
• Sometimes contributes to the Company’s social media sites like Facebook and Twitter
• Helps plan and implement campaigns for specific marketing goals
• Coordinate content creation and publishing of company newsletters (internal or external)
• Prepare internal and external communications including announcements, corporate reports, presentations, technical documentation, sales support material, performance recognition and motivational material, advertising and advertorial copy, etc. as needed
• Research, develop and write compelling copy that is inspiring, captivating and brings concepts to life across all media channels
• Serve as a corporate resource for writing, editing, and proofreading
• Develop accurate and appropriate internal and external communication pieces
• Actively contribute ideas and work together with the communications and other departments to enhance projects and deliver best-in-class results
Requirements:

Content mediums will include, but are not limited to, website, video / DVD scripts, blog posts, brochures, point of sale material, business plans, presentations, information mailers (for internal and external audiences), marketing communications and advertising copy.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in journalism, English, communications, public relations, or similar
1-2 years writing experience advantageous
PORTFOLIO OF WRITING SAMPLES REQUIRED.
