Position Summary:
The successful incumbent will be expected to ensure the effective and efficient administration of the plan printing and photocopying machines. In general provide support and assistance to the staff and students.
The key performance areas for this post include:-
Assisting with maintaining and updating samples of materials, technical literature and other technical and teaching aids.
Collaborating with academic staff in making specific information available to students for the execution of tasks and schemes, including obtaining new material and supervising project submissions.
Interacting with large groups of students from different backgrounds from the two departments namely architecture and architectural technology & interior design
Reception skills are required for the effective handling of telephone queries and communicating with staff, clients and students.
Administration skills and selling products such as paper and cardboard for model building.
Operating the School’s plan printing machine and photocopying machines
Providing some administrative support to the academic staff and, when necessary, to the departmental secretaries.
Core competencies for this post include:-
Ability to communicate and liaise with academic staff and students.
Basic financial management skills.
Good organisational and administrative skills
Sound knowledge of the ITS system
Good interpersonal skills
Requirements
In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidates must possess Matric plus four years work-related experience in which competency has been gained.
