Vacancy: Switchboard Operator
The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:
Ability
- operate communication systems such as telephone,switchboard,intercom and email
- answer incoming calls,greeting callers,providing information,transferring calls and/or taking messages as necessary
- page individuals using paging and inter-office communication equipment
- route emergency calls appropriately
- arrange international calls as instructed
- relay and route written and verbal message
- may perform other duties as assigned
- give company directions to external customers
Experience
- filing and general office administration
- greeting telephone callers and determining the nature of their call
- operating office equipment (photocopiers, fax machines, switchboards)
Knowledge
- consumer needs
