Reeva Steenkamp Foundation Shares an Update After Her Mom June Suffered A Stroke. On Wednesday 03 September, the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation posted a statement on Facebook about June’s health. June Steenkamp, suffered a stroke on Monday. The foundation added that she is facing a long road to recovery, and in need of considerable rehabilitation. Thus money is needed to help her pay for any medical assistance she can receive.
“To ensure June gets the necessary care and treatment, a fund has been set up for her care and rehabilitation. All payments will be approved by two independent attorneys and will be audited. Should the fund not be exhausted post rehabilitation, it will be donated to the Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation to continue its mission of fighting the scourge of gender based violence,” part of the statement reads.
Now the foundation is back with another update. June is making small progress, which is quite a relief. She managed to sit up and have tea, with assistance. The family is grateful for the care that June is getting from the medical personnel.

with assistance. It’s amazing to see her spirit shining through. The road to recovery is still long, and the doctors are working hard to understand the full extent of the brain’s response to the stroke. We are eternally grateful for the excellent care she is receiving from the Doctors , nurses and staff.
