CDM Offers Unemployed Graduate Programme
Graduates and Interns are encouraged to apply at Cacadu District Municipality before the 18th July for their current opportunities.
CDM is committed to employment practises that redress past imbalances in respect of race, gender, creed and disability and furthermore invites suitably qualified applicants to submit a detailed application for the following positions.
The Cacadu District Municipality (CDM) has embarked on a drive to promote the district business model of capacity building and the support to local municipalities.
To this effect funding has been set aside to finance an Unemployed Graduate Programme to ensure that unemployed graduates are provided with relevant practical training skills and appropriate experience in various disciplines.
CDM invites applications from unemployed graduates that resides in the following Local Municipalities:
Baviaans, Blue Crane Route, Camdeboo, Kouga, Koukamma, Ikwezi, Makana, Ndlambe and Sundays River Valley to participate in the following internship programmes:
1. Economic Development [LED and Tourism]
Core Requirements – Tertiary qualification: Degree or BTech in Developmental
Studies / Tourism and Marketing.
2. Public Relations / Communication
Core Requirements – Tertiary qualification: Degree or BTech in Public
Relations.
3. Infrastructure and Planning / Civil Engineering BTech
Core Requirements – Tertiary qualification: Degree or Diploma in Civil
Engineering / Degree or BTech in Town and Regional Planning.
4. Information Technology
Core Requirements – Tertiary qualification: Degree or BTech in Computer
Science, or Hardware and Software maintenance.
5. Performance Management
Core Requirements – Tertiary qualification: Degree or BTech in Public
Administration or Human Resources Management with a subject or module in Performance Management Systems.
6. Supply Chain Management
Core Requirements – Tertiary qualification: Degree or BTech in Purchasing/Logistics.
As part of the project, Interns will undergo intensive training in Municipal Accounting and Financial Management. The Accounting and Financial areas include inter alia.
• Revenue Collection and Debtors administration
• Payment of creditors
• Payroll Administration
• Cash Flow and Investment Management
• Risk Management and Short Term Insurance
• Bank Reconciliations
• Budgeting and in year reporting
• Preparation of Financial Statements
• Supply Chain Management
On appointment, Interns will be expected to sign internship contracts with Cacadu District Municipality and a contract with a specific Local Municipality in which they may be placed [if a need arises] during the internship programme.
Graduates will be screened for suitability and the residential address within the Cacadu District and its local municipality will be verified. Should it be found that applicants misrepresented themselves they will be disqualified from the programme.
Shortlisted candidates may have to undergo assessment test by Council where necessary.
