Vacancy: Report Writer
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- 2 – 3 Years’ Work Experience in Data Analysis / Report Writing/Will also consider a graduate
- Minimum of Matric including Maths and English with Matric Exemption
- Very good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must be able to provide accurate information and have attention to detail
- Microsoft Excel – Advanced level
- Oracle SQL – Basic / Intermediate level
- Cognos 7 & 8 – Powerplay, Report Studio
DUTIES:
- Reports to information services Manager.
- To provide Management with regular and ad hoc reports as required but in particular on Sales and Financial data. To create and maintain web based reporting infrastructure so as to encourage the ability of report users to help themselves.
Writing of Regular Reports:
- Compile Daily, Weekly and Monthly standard reports
- Make all reasonable efforts to ensure that the data in the reports is correct, relevant and current.
- Ensure that reports are compiled and distributed to recipients on time.
- Ensure that recipients only receive reports that they are authorized to receive.
Automate regular reports:
- Plan and execute the automation of all regular reports on a web based report framework.
- Create and maintain a web menu interface for all reports.
Compile ad-hoc reports
- Compile ad-hoc reports as required.
Data Analysis:
- Analyze Sales, Financial Data and other data as requested by management.
- Identify and highlight any trends or other abnormalities presented by the data.
- Present the results to management in a timeous fashion.
