Harvest Season for Relebogile Mabotja As She Gets to Enjoy the Fruits of Her Hard Work. Nothing beats receiving your flowers while you can still smell them. This past weekend Relebogile Mabotja was one of the industry women honored at the Basadi In Music Awards ceremony.
Relebogile was nominated in three categories on both nights. She got a nomination for Entertainment TV Producer of the Year Award, Podcast Presenter of the Year Award, and Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year Award. She faced fierce competition in all the categories, and all the nominees were equally deserving. Instead of just sitting around Relebogile used social media to ask for votes from her online family.
The big night came, and Relebogile bagged herself the TV Producer of the Year Award. Although she has won awards in the past, this particular one, signified all the hard work she has put in the industry. Relebogile has worked in production from18 years, and now as a 40 year-old, is getting the recognition she deserves. She is proud and over the moon for the recognition by Basadi In Music.
“To say I’m proud of myself is a small understatement. Especially because I have struggled and continue to struggle with not just celebrating myself but also truly relishing and absorbing and marinating and digesting and processing the moments of success.
This may have been for one show but it feels like it’s for all the hard work in my entire career. Many don’t know this, but I started working in production at the age of 18 as a production assistant straight off the theatre stage as a performer. It has been a very long and tough journey and I am overjoyed that it’s harvest season.
May such moments open even more doors for more women at the table and even more to build their own.
