Bandanas we all know that Mr. Shakur did it first right? As much as this ‘new’ trend was a part of 2Pac’s ‘thug life’ it has now become the most common head accessory one sees on the streets of Joburg. It’s not just a thing for the gentlemen of coolness the ladies seem to have adopted this headgear too! The bandana has once again made it as a street fashion statement piece. If you don’t have one yet ladies…get with the streets!

Also making their way back to the future are Baseball jerseys, they’ve moved from American fields to South African streets. Our twelebs and fashion followers may not know much about the all time American favourite sport but, they know plenty about wearing the jersey in a size that’s not for them and accessorising it accordingly, sometimes even with the very same Bandana we were talking about. If you want to be a part of the trendsetters in 2014 Joburg time get yourself an over-sized Baseball jersey. Get with the streets, get some street cred.

My personal favourite of our street fashion 3 B’s…Backpacks!!! Extra, extra read all about, if you don’t have a backpack you’re definitely not a Joburg ‘kool kid’!
From tribal prints to simple black leather patterns with gold buckle details, with them being so functional backpacks are slowly replacing the normal schoolbag or briefcase one would use on the daily. The now of fashion and point giver on the street cred list, if you’ve got yourself a backpack you’re on par with the streets!!
