Job Overview

As an IT Technical Support Intern, you will gain practical experience by supporting the day-to-day IT operations within homechoice. You will assist the technical support team with resolving user queries, maintaining IT equipment and supporting hardware and software installations across the business. The role also involves logging support requests, maintaining IT asset records and contributing to technology projects. Throughout the internship, you will strengthen your technical knowledge while developing workplace skills in communication, teamwork and customer service. This programme is specifically designed to help TVET graduates complete their Work Integrated Learning requirements and prepare for future employment in the IT industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT technical support to end users
• Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices
• Log, monitor and escalate IT support requests when necessary
• Support user account administration and system access requests
• Assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Maintain accurate IT asset registers and equipment records
• Support the deployment of IT equipment across the business
• Provide administrative support within the IT department
• Assist with various IT projects and technology initiatives
• Learn IT support processes within a retail and customer-focused environment
• Work closely with experienced IT professionals to develop practical technical skills
• Deliver professional and efficient support to internal users

Requirements and Skills

• Completed N6 National Certificate in Information Technology or a related IT qualification
• Completed all practical subjects requiring Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to obtain a National Diploma
• Basic computer literacy
• Passion for technology and IT support
• Good communication skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
