When you come from a rural area it gets hard to make it big in a different environment, the challenges it comes with, invading a big city is actually quite big.  You need to adapt to “different” and learn to cope in these stressful conditions but for a young gentleman from a now developing township of Ramotse in Hammanskraal things successfully turned out.  We managed to get in touch with this young guy called Aubrey Bongani Ngoma born on the 18th of September 1989 in Hammanskraal who was very keen to take us through his career path.

Aubrey Ngoma started his educational journey at St Camillus Primary School where he found his love for the “beautiful game of Football” as he quotes it, he then progressed to playing the game at home with friends for a team then called Bolton Wanderers in the dusty field turned into a mini stadium. Ngoma then joined TUKS Football program at the age of 15years old while attending school at Boitshepo Catholic School. At the age of 17 he joined Tuks Sports Academy where he attended school at TUKS Combined School, only after a year he got promoted to the National First Division Team while doing his Matric. He went on to play with the team that made it to the Nedbank Cup Finals in 2009 and the same team that played till it was promoted to the ABSA Premier Soccer League.

Aubrey Ngoma now a footballer (Left-winger) at Orlando Pirates has had a quite remarkable journey to get where he is today and is still striving to be the best and a regular in his current team, also aiming to go higher despite being benched most of the time and all the negative air going around. He is quite a humble young man, obedient and hardworking, there’s always less negative publicity on him.  This courageous young man has grown to prove himself that he does deserve to be at the top by how he plays every time he gets an opportunity to be in the field. Ngoma also features in the local tournament (Hammanskraal) for local teams called Aubrey Ngoma Cup inspiring young upcoming players that they too can make it anywhere.
