Here Is How Much Was Raised At the Black Coffee Foundation Gala Dinner. Thursday evening, the who is whose of the industry gathered at the exclusive LUXX Venue in Sandhurst, Johannesburg. This was for the annual Black Coffee Foundation Gala Dinner. This arrangement is established by internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Black Coffee.

The black-tie affair did not only mark Black Coffee’s birthday celebration but also served as a fundraising event dedicated to launching a transformative institution for young artists. Attendees enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails, an exquisite three-course dining experience, and a luxurious art auction showcasing exclusive pieces and memorabilia.

Among the artists entertaining the crowd were globally renowned jazz pianist Nduduzo Makhathini on the grand piano, talented sibling trio Biko’s Mana and award-winning soprano Zandile Mzazi. Black Coffee managed to pull in big sponsors like Mercedes-Benz South Africa and Hennessy.

The foundation aimed to raise R5 million, contributing towards a R24 million goal for the year. According to Anele Mdoda, who was among the guests, over R3.1 million was raised, and this is still good money. This money is going towards the Black Coffee Music Academy.

The Black Coffee Foundation contributes towards nation building and the rehabilitation of South Africa. It does so by continually raising funds through CD sales, donations from the private sector, donations from government institutions, and foreign investors. The foundation was launched in 2010
