Sheep commit suicide after becoming addicts
Nearly a thousand Australian sheep have committed suicide after eating a poisonous weed which causes symptoms similar to that of a heroin addict.
Hundreds of sheep have committed suicide after becoming “heroin addicts”.
Approximately 800 Australian sheep from New South Wales have killed themselves after eating a poisonous weed known as Darling Pea which causes symptoms such as acting drunk, losing weight and becoming depressed.
Farmers – who are attempting to separate their livestock from the poisonous plant – have even seen cases of sheep bashing their heads against fences until they die.
Farmer Louise Knight told the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper: “It’s like dealing with a thousand heroin addicts.”
