Man stabs wife over cold feet

A man stabbed his wife because she hogged the bed sheets and left him with cold feet.

Derek Miller attacked his wife of 11-years, Galina, when she went to take the bins out because she’d stolen all of the covers on the bed the night before and his feet had been too cold for him to get to sleep.

Mr Miller approached his wife telling her, ‘You will die now’, but after she managed to escape he phoned the police and confessed.

He said: “I have just attempted to kill my wife. She’s run away – I have failed.”

The couple’s marriage is said to have been “on the rocks” for a while and although Miller had spoiled his wife with dinner and flowers the night before, he later told police: “I’m sorry, it had to be done. She has goaded me for years.”

Miller is now awaiting sentencing.
