9 Ways to avoid stress

Stress starts with small issues and escalates to bigger things. So the more you ignore it, the more you get used to it. The point is not to stress at all, so here’s how:

1. Don’t be too hard on your self – Yes we all have plans and ambitions for our lives, but we can’t control what life the throws at us. Learn to accept things you cannot change and live with them. It’s not everything in life that can be controlled.
2. Make peace with the fact that you can’t control time – Focus on setting priorities. This will make it a bit easier for you to manage it and give you more control. Be organised and prepared.
3. Learn from failure – No one likes losing, but there always has to be a loser. Instead of sulking and stressing make it a learning experience to prepare you for the next time you try again.

5. Avoid unnecessary conflict – You don’t have to always agree with everything a person says. Avoid people and situations who could potentially stress you out.

6. Find the cause – Think and try to find the source of your stress. Sometimes it may be an issue that you’re not even aware of that’s causing you to stress. Once you’ve identified it, address it and move on.

7. Think right – Sometimes we cause our own stress in how we think. At times the things we stress about are in our heads and are exaggerated. Develop a positive mind set.

9. Open up – Talking about things that bother you. Getting it off your chest may give you some relief.
