Somizi Remembers His Late Mother Mary Twala A Year After Her Passing. Death is an enemy that keep us robbing us of our loved ones. Just like Somizi who lost his mother back in 2020, all that we are left with are some memories we shared with them.
Mary who has been in and out of hospital due to diabetes, lost the battle in July 2020 at Netcare Park Lane Hospital in Johannesburg at the age of 80. The whole country including international stars like Beyonce, had nothing but great things to say about the veteran actress.
Somizi who was very close to his mom, was distraught the whole time of the funeral proceedings. Taking to the podium the emotional Somizi said, “It is every child’s nightmare. Finally it is here. It is the complete opposite of what I had in mind. In my mind I had planned to put one rose on the coffin … now she is in the most beautiful coffin and decorations, because she asked for it.”
“I know I have lost a mother on earth but gained the most powerful ancestor. Don’t be surprised if I rise beyond because I have the most generous ancestor … I promise to never make you an angry ancestor. Thank you for everything. I love you,”he closed his powerful speech.
Ever since Mam Twala’s passing, Somizi has always been about celebrating the icon that she was. Yesterday marked exactly a year since Mary’s passing and Somizi took the opportunity to once again remember her.
“On this day last year u left the earth but u definitely never left me…….forever my Ma,” the media personality, author, entrepreneur and all round entertainer said.
