“Everything That Could’ve Went Wrong Went Wrong,” Pamela Mtanga Opens Up About Her Experiences Hosting the SAMAs

“Everything That Could’ve Went Wrong Went Wrong,” Pamela Mtanga Opens Up About Her Experiences Hosting the SAMAs. Live TV shows are never and easy thing to handle. You can be aced with technical challenges, poor audience engagement, and dealing with nerves. When it’s broadcast on TV, it’s even more scarier, because you also have to give those sitting at home, a perfect show.

Pamela Mtanga knows this very well, as she has hosted a number of major live shows. A few weeks back, she held it down as the Miss South Africa 2025 Grand Finale 2025 co-host. Pamela did such a great job interviewing celebrities backstage, and engaging with the audience. After that she held it down hosting the annual DStv Delicious Festival, as well as the Brutal Fruit The Pink Table in Johannesburg.

This past Sunday, Pamela had one of her biggest hosting gigs yet. She had the privilege of hosting the South African Music Awards, together with Scoop Makhathini. The duo did very well, giving the audience a great show. Behind the scenes though, it’s always a different story. Not everything went according to plan, with Pamela ending up not wearing her main outfit of the night.

Everything that could’ve went wrong, went wrong and on top of that, I didn’t get to wear my main outfit of the night. And that’s the nature of big productions, and being on them isn’t about chasing perfection, it’s about being entrusted with the role of running the show with all the unexpected chaos that comes with it. Because in the midst of all of that, it’s remembering how I didn’t crumble under the pressure and how my team just carried the glam and logistics in the background,” Pamela said.
