If you have recently finished matric and looking for valauble workplace experience, then this is for you. The Mediclinic has an Internship position for a CSSD Assistant at Mediclinic Paarl.

Mediclinic Paarl is a multidisciplinary, private hospital, situated in the beautiful town of Paarl in the heart of the winelands in the Western Cape

The central sterile services department (CSSD) is an integrated place within the hospital that performs sterilization and other actions on medical devices, equipment and consumables; for subsequent use by health workers in the operating theatre of the hospital.

Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification

Competent to speak, write and read in English and Afrikaans

Be prepared to work shifts, night duty, weekends and Public holidays when required

Relevant experience in a CSSD environment is strongly recommended

A person with a sense for thorough and correct outputs

Ability to perform tasks under pressure

A person with a high sense of responsibility towards the job

Previous hospital experience will be an advantage

Basic knowledge of infection control, health and safety and stock control

Good client relations

Duties:

Cleaning or sterilising the instruments

Packing instruments and other sterile supplies

Assistance to nursing staff when needed

Ad hoc tasks as instructed by the Unit Manager / Senior staff
