Sales Assistant wanted at Van Schaik Bookstore

If you are looking to enter the sales industry then this opportunity is for you. Van Schaik Bookstore, needs a Sales Assistant in Rondebosch, who possesses good interpersonal and administrative skills and can function well under pressure.

 

Reporting to the manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

optimisation and stimulation of sales in the shop

customer service at the counter

maintenance of the general book section (ordering, merchandising)

handling customer enquiries (telephone, fax and e-mail)

handling quotations for individual customers,institutions and libraries

applying the companys customer service policy at all levels

processing new and inter-branch stock

customer service and processing customer enquiries at the pay point

maintaining administrative processes (customer orders, proformas, enquiries)

applying the company’s stock control policy

performing duties as a cashier.

 

Requirements:

a Senior Certificate

computer literacy (MS Office Suite and Outlook)

good communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette

proficiency in English

previous experience in an academic bookstore environment will serve as a strong recommendation.
