Clicks Group is seeking a dedicated Shop Assistant / Cashier for its Gansbaai store in the Western Cape. Role Overview

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you will deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring smooth operational activities at the point of sale (POS). You will support store merchandising, handle cash safely, and promote Clicks’ products and loyalty programs. The role contributes directly to a positive customer experience and supports Clicks’ vision to be the health and beauty retailer of choice in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

• Operating the point of sale efficiently and accurately, including processing payments and scanning merchandise
• Handling cash safely and adhering to store procedures
• Promoting and enrolling customers in the Clicks Clubcard program to achieve participation targets
• Informing customers of promotions and deals to drive sales and enhance the “feel good, pay less” experience
• Acting as a brand ambassador by providing friendly, visible, and professional customer service
• Maintaining store visual standards, merchandising displays, and general housekeeping tasks
• Keeping product knowledge up to date and sharing information with relief staff to ensure service continuity
• Supporting the company’s vision and values in daily interactions and tasks

Minimum Requirements

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Grade 12 (Matric)

Skills and abilities include:

• Basic mathematics and numeracy skills
• Understanding of retail/FMCG merchandising and promotions
• Knowledge of stock management procedures
• Strong customer orientation and service delivery skills
• Planning, organising, and problem-solving capabilities
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Basic computer literacy
