SAFTA 2018 Nominees Are Out. The 12th annual South African Film and Television Awards nominees have been announced. The event which was hosted by media personality Masechaba Ndlovu took place at the Inanda Country Club in Johannesburg on Friday morning.
The awards are held to honor, celebrate and promote creativity, quality and excellence of SA film and TV talent. They encourage entrepreneurship and the development of new talent. This year 79 awards will be handed out in the various categories covering everything from TV non-fiction, TV fiction, feature films, short films, to student films.
There will be a special event held to celebrate the nominees on 9 March at Sun City. The official Saftas award ceremony will take place over three days at Sun City from 22 to 24 March. The SAFTAs12 will be broadcast live on SABC2 on the 24th of March 2018.
