Mark Pilgrim Asks People to Stop Sharing Fake News Around His Condition

Mark Pilgrim Is Alive, Here Is Why Some Thought He Passed On. On Thursday there were trending posts on Facebook declaring that Mark Pilgrim has passed away. It turns out this was nothing but fake news as the man is alive.

Mark opened up about battling lung cancer a year ago. Since then, the veteran media personality has been using his social media pages to share updates about his health. Over the past few weeks his health deteriorated, but Mark is still living a positive life of hope.

This is the second time he is fighting the dreaded disease. Back in 1988, the award winning veteran radio personality was diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer. He was 18 at the time, and the cancer spread to his lungs and kidneys. Pilgrim had nine months of intense chemo sessions lasting up to four hours a session and lucky for him, he had a supportive and loving family that helped him pull through.

Even this time around he has a strong support system. His daughters and fiance, are forever by his side as he battles cancer. Pilgrim also gets a lot of encouraging messages from colleagues and peers in the industry. Since he is open about his journey so many people on social media are also rooting for him to pull through.

It’s been a few days since he shared any health update, only for social media to run with the news that he has died. This confusion came about after a USA man named James Pilgrim announced the death of his brother-in-law, Mark. Coincidentally his brother-in-law also battled cancer, leading to some thinking its our Pilgrim.

The misconception has been cleared, with a statement from HOT 1027 FM, where Pilgrim worked, confirming that it was fake news.
